Gliding With John Williams

I'm blessed. Truly. My job is awesome, and the perks are oftentimes unbelievable. Take, for example, the fact that I'm the auctioneer for the International School of the Peninsula's Gala Fundraiser this year. And every year they do this fundraiser, John Williams, one of the parents, donates a ride in his glider.

John wanted to be sure that I could really sell the ride in his glider, and offered to take me for a flight. I graciously accepted, and we waited for the weather to break so we could get out for a ride. This is a shot of the glider in mid-assembly. The wings lock into place, and are rated to over 200 knots.
