san francisco in the summertime can be surprisingly like winter many other places in the world. if you have never been to san francisco in the summertime, you are in for a big surprise. we highly recommend bringing a warm sweater, if not a jacket, as well as pants. and warm socks.
the
location of the city on a peninsula, surrounded by cold water on three
sides, with nearby inland valleys that heat up to over 100 degrees make
for a very interesting summer climate. expect san francisco to be foggy
and wet, with temperatures between 55 and 70 degrees during the day. there
are warm days in the summer, but there are plenty of cold ones as well.
anytime you head out for the day, be sure to pack a warm sweatshirt with you, no matter how nice it looks that morning. as the inland valleys heat up, and all of that hot air rises, cool air rushes in from the pacific ocean, turning san francisco into a giant fog factory.
